IIn order to celebrate the 500^th anniversary of the carillon four international carillon associations join hands: The Dutch Carillon association (NKV), The Flemish Carillon association (VBV), The Walloon Carillon association  (ACW) and Carillon Association of Northern France (GCF) , by means of which the borders of the ‘Low Countries’ are pretty much the same again as in 1510. Furthermore we also work together with the Carillon and Nature Museum in Asten (The Netherlands) and with quite some local organizations and associations.

At the end of 2007 the committee of “500 years of carillon” met for the first ideas came forward. We keep you informed on our website!

The most important goal of the committee is the promotion of the carillon to a larger audience. We try to reach our goal by working together. One example of this: by a common communication strategy we want to reach more press and more people.

We would also like to prompt local carillonneurs to offer some special performances in 2010. The website will offer a forum to reach that goal by passing ideas, announce and advertise events.
